White Nile waste management utilizes an approach that transforms the oil and gas wastes themselves into assets for the population.Serving in the Albertine Region, White Nile is a waste treatment plant, one of only three licensed oil and gas waste management plants in Uganda.
Unlike the other two that are landfills, White Nile treats the waste material transforming it to usable products such as manure for agriculture which makes it environmentally friendly and at the same time enables the growth and development of the oil and gas sector
Without waste management, the potential liabilities for the Oil & Gas Sector are significant.
The management of waste in the oil and gas sector is changing greatly as a result of regulatory obligations and targets adopted by forward looking organization’s which recognize that it is not sustainable to dispose of valuable resources without minimizing health and environmental impact.
